How Can sharp Knee Pain be Treated?

My knee has a history of pain, swelling, bruising, redness, hot to touch, tendonits and clicks and pops. It has started to suddenly hurt with a sharp pain and feel loose and unstable. I had an injury a few months ago but nothing was broken or torn. Do I need to go back to my doctor to get it checked out or just take it easy for a while?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
your symptoms suggest possibility of ligament tear within knee and it needs to be investigated with MRI of the involved knee. Please get it done from radiology centre nearby you. Meanwhile wear long knee brace for support to knee. you need to consult orthopaedic surgeon with report.
